This film opens by comparing a fine watch to the airplane, a car engine, and the human heart. A stop-motion animation demonstration of the basic design, assembly, and operation of a watch. Watch as the timepiece assembles itself from many parts. The "works" inside are shown on a large 7 1/2 foot, displayed in-line, instead of bunched up as they would be in the watch, are shown exact in every detail and to scale. The function of each component is demonstrated piece by piece, and how it all works together.
