Routine Maintenance. Beginning with the breechblock we learn the maintenance procedures to keep the 90 MM Gun in top firing shape. Including the oil at temperature procedures. Watch as the firing mechanism is disassembled, cleaned, and replaced. Next we move on to washing, drying, oiling, and allowing the bore to cool after firing. See as the Gun crew follows the War Department Lubrication guide, noting all the locations that need lube, and what to use.

In this training film we learn the proper inspection techniques to keep the weapon firing. Starting with the oiling of the breech mechanism, including the firing mechanism. A visual check of the bore, and the firing ring for live, and dummy ammo. Watch as a live round is fuse set and tested, and the platform is traversed in a complete circle, and raised and lowered. Watch as the Sgt. Checks many other systems on the gun.

This training film the Third in the series, covers some routine checks on the 90 MM gun system, starting with the Oil Reserve, learn how to drain, and fill for the 8 Ounce reserve. See also the counter recoil buffer oil changed. Learn the precautions and checks for water in the oil. Watch as the gun crew checks the gas pressure by jacking it in and out of alignment. Learn how to replenish the gas supply in the event that the gun doesn't return to battery.
