Helicopter Search and Rescue - Land Phase

This film contains several scenarios were the land phase Search and Rescue takes place from a helicopter. Made by the Navy, with cooperation from the Air Force, the Army, the Marines and the U.S. Coast Guard. See several downed pilots, and a pair of pleasure boaters. See the use of the emergency radio, and basic survival precautions. Watch as the contents of a boater’s emergency kit is listed, and explained. See as the boaters, gather seaweed for an SOS and gather wood for a signal fire. Watch as the chopper raises them both with the rescue basket. See a marine squad rappel down from a Chinook, and the search for a downed, injured pilot. After the pilot is lifted out by the "dust-off" Huey, the marines are pulled out dangling from a Maguire rig on the Chinook. See as the last downed pilot is pulled up through the trees.

History and systems descriptions for the helicopter air refueling process. An explanation of the equipment and it's location on the HC-130 used for re-fueling, and the H3's fueling probe, and the H-53's Probe and other air refueling systems. Helicopter Air Refueling - Cross-Over and Emergency Procedures

The last film in the series, this film is about the possible problems encountered, and the procedures for overcoming or recovering from them. Fueling is normally done off the left wing of the tanker, however in an emergency it can be taken off the right. The process to move to the right wing is called Cross Over. See a demonstration of a single engine join up, and other emergency procedures

UH-1 Tactical Operations

Film focusing on the differing missions of the UH-1. Both as "Slick" unarmed - cargo and transport, and as a gunship. An experienced crew can install the modular weapons package in one hour. This consists of two LAU-59 Rocket pods, and two mini-guns. Next is a general information section on the Huey, and it's deployment, and then we get into the tactical operations. Starting with the planning from reconnaissance intelligence. Moving on to low level flight techniques, a.k.a. map of the earth. Followed by infiltration techniques, including altitude information, and possible formations. Next in the film is exfiltration or recovery, using slicks and gunships in combinations. Look for landing sites first, then rope ladders, and finally Maguire rigs, with safety information for the rigs. Re-supply operations are covered next, with heavy compact loads carried slung under the bird. Next are some civil operations like medical evacuation, and flood, fire, and volcano disaster relief. See formation flying animations before moving into formations and tactics. Focusing on an exfiltration in simulated combat situation. Attack patterns are covered next, before the exfiltration is accomplished. Mini-Gun firing is the next section of the film, followed by rocket delivery, with common tactics, and general information for both.
