This military training film teaches the correct method for crossing an un fordable stream. discusses the basic training needed before attempting the crossing, and some of the safety precautions. See the base position of the rider for the most stable seat, and most freeing for the horse. Watch as the squad takes progressive crossings, to familiarize the horse and rider. Watch as the pack animals are led across, and the escort wagon is converted to a ferry. Using a tarpaulin from the wagon to create a pontoon from the bed of the wagon. The Mountain wagon can be ferried across on the escort wagon, see the loading and unloading procedure for this. Watch as a hostile crossing is simulated, to see how the platoon handles it. See the crossing site picked and the criteria used in the selection. Note that the Light Machine gun squad protects the bridgehead troops.
