Focusing on practical hands on training when possible. Next is drill on the field, and football and other sports. Training is spilt into 2 parts, including a shore term and a sea term. Follows the story of 3 Coast Guard cutters as they circumnavigate the continental United States, to survey a northwest passage for Dew line re supply. Follow the Bramble, the Spar and the Storis through the panama canal, and up the pacific coast to Acapulco, and on to Seattle. From Seattle they meet the USN Burton Island, a Navy Ice Breaker. See as the ships fight to free themselves from a frozen solid state. Just outside the western entrance to the Bellot Strait, A Canadian Ice Breaker the HMCS Labrador meets up with them.
