See the summer palace of the Lama, and some of the staff and treasures of the palace, also the gifts for President Roosevelt. See part of the examination for the Doctorate of Divinity for three monks. See the ceremonial re-enactment of key battles, while the warriors wear the preserved armor of their ancestors. This film takes a tour of the important features of buddhism. Starting with the birthplace of Gautama, Benares, the city where he was proclaimed the buddha, and the type of tree under which he then taught the first disciples, and the basic principles of buddhism. See a progression of buddhism from pure at a temple in Ceylon, and Burma where buddhism is overlaid atop the older Nats shrines, to Siam where animal forms were interwoven, to China where ancestor worship is grafted on. As the Powers of Buddha grow so to the Arms, heads and legs of the representations of buddha.
