This film takes you through the investigation into an airplane crash. Follow the Duty Officer as he initiates the investigation. from gathering the members of the board and other interested parties. Board members include, A Naval flight officer, A flight mechanic, a flight surgeon, and an aviation safety officer. Watch the retrieval of the wreckage, and a briefing of the known facts so far. See each board member carrying out their responsibilities of investigation, from medical examinations, witness interrogation, mapping, and photographing the location of pieces of debris, examinations of the flight manuals and the maintenance record for the aircraft, to the writing of the report with recommendations, for preventing such accidents in the future.
